Artist's Statement
I first took a class in eighth grade that had some background on photography. I learned some of the small techniques to taking good photos. Some of the techniques were just knowing when to use flash, having the right lighting, and coming at different angles. The little knowledge I had of photography made me want to learn more. I then took photography as a freshman. This class expanded my intelligence in photography farther. I learned the simple steps; developing film, photos, matting, and rolling film. This class also taught me a little of the computer graphics. I got to use different types of photoshops like light room. I begin to have a love for taking pictures, but I liked it as a side hobby. My sophomore year of high school, I decided to take Advanced Film. I knew I wasn't good at technology so digital wasn't made for me. I loved going back to the old school black and white photos. I liked having the surprise to find out if my photos' came out amazing or not. I have learned about different cameras that involve more then just a push of a button. My knowledge of new techniques has also expanded. I love being challenged to do new things I haven't done before. I enjoy taking pictures, but I know I won't make it a full time job. I will continue to study and take the common core photography classes that my high school offers, and maybe even challenge myself to take a class in college. I will always follow the skills my teachers have taught me to take great photos, and continue my love for photography.
